ITI Percentage Calculator (NCVT)
Copy two numbers per head from your DGT statement of marks — the maximum and what you secured. You get your percentage for each year, the overall figure weighted the way DGT weights two-year trades, and a check of every head against its pass mark.
Enter the maximum and secured marks for each head, exactly as printed.

A DGT statement of marks lists every head with three numbers: Max. Marks, Min. Pass Marks and Marks Secured. Which heads appear depends on your trade and your batch, so copy them exactly as printed. As one real example, a Year 2 statement of marks for a two-year engineering trade (examination December 2021) listed these heads:
| Head | Max. marks | Min. pass marks |
|---|---|---|
| Trade Theory | 100 | 33 |
| Workshop Calculation and Science | 50 | 17 |
| Engineering Drawing | 50 | 17 |
| Trade Practical | 250 | 150 |
| Formative Assessment | 250 | 150 |
| Total | 700 |
Newer batches sit a computer-based test of 75 questions for 150 marks: Trade Theory is one 100-mark paper (for engineering trades it includes the workshop calculation and engineering drawing questions) and Employability Skills is a separate 50-mark paper. So a recent marksheet may show fewer heads than the example above. That is why the calculator asks for your own maximums instead of assuming them.

The pass marks DGT applies
DGT's curricula under the Craftsmen Training Scheme carry this pass regulation, in section 2.4.1:
"The minimum pass percent for Trade Practical and Formative assessment is 60% & for all other subjects is 33%."
| Head | Pass percent | Pass mark if out of 250 | out of 100 | out of 50 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trade Practical, Formative Assessment | 60% | 150 | 60 | 30 |
| Trade Theory, Employability Skills and other subjects | 33% | 83 | 33 | 17 |
33% of 50 is 16.5, and marksheets print the pass mark as 17 — the calculator rounds up the same way. Separately, DGT's July 2025 guidelines require at least 80% attendance and at least 60% in Formative Assessment just to be eligible for the examination.

Two-year trades: how the overall figure is weighted
The same section of the curricula says how the years combine:
"For the purposes of determining the overall result, weightage of 100% is applied for six months and one year duration courses and 50% weightage is applied to each examination for two years courses."
So for a two-year trade, the overall percentage is the average of your two yearly percentages. For example, Year 1 at 480 out of 600 is 80.00%, and Year 2 at 532 out of 700 is 76.00%, so the overall figure is 78.00%. Simply adding the marks (1012 out of 1300) would give 77.85% instead — the two methods differ whenever the years have different maximums, which is why the calculator shows the weighted figure.
How to write it on your resume
Put the council next to the trade — NCVT or SCVT is the first thing an employer checks on an ITI line — and the percentage at the end.

ITI ka percentage kaise nikale? (How do I calculate my ITI percentage?)
Add the marks secured in every head for a year and divide by the total maximum marks for that year, then multiply by 100. For a two-year trade, do this for each year and take the average of the two percentages, because DGT gives each year's examination 50% weightage.
What are the pass marks in ITI?
DGT's CTS curricula set the minimum pass percent at 60% for Trade Practical and Formative Assessment and 33% for all other subjects. Your statement of marks prints the minimum pass marks for each head.
Is formative assessment included in the ITI percentage?
Formative Assessment is a head on the statement of marks with its own maximum and pass mark, so it is included by default. If a form asks for theory and practical marks only, remove that row in the calculator.
Does the calculation change for SCVT?
The pass rules quoted here are DGT's for trades under the Craftsmen Training Scheme. SCVT certificates are issued by state councils, so use the maximum and pass marks printed on your own marksheet.
