Teacher Resume Format — Example You Can Copy
School hiring screens on three facts before anything else: the board you have taught, the classes you handle, and your subject. A teacher resume that makes a principal hunt for those gets set aside quickly.

- State the board in the first line — CBSE, ICSE, State Board or IB. Schools filter by board before they read anything else, because syllabus familiarity is not transferable.
- Name your subject and exact class levels together, as in "PGT Mathematics, Classes 9-12". PRT, TGT and PGT are separate pay scales and separate vacancies.
- Give result movement if you have it — board averages, pass percentage, or the number of students who crossed a grade boundary. Very few teacher resumes carry numbers, so yours stands out immediately.
- List B.Ed, CTET, TET or NET with the year cleared. These are statutory eligibility checks for most school posts, not optional extras.
- Mention class strength you handle. Managing 45 students in a section is a different job from 18, and principals read it as a capability signal.
ATS keywords for teacher roles

Common questions
What should a teacher resume include in India?
Your subject and class levels, the board you have taught, your B.Ed along with CTET or state TET status and the year cleared, and your teaching experience with school names. Result improvement figures and class strength handled are what separate a strong teacher resume from an ordinary one.
Is CTET compulsory on a teaching resume?
For most government school posts and many private CBSE schools it is a hard eligibility requirement, so list it with the year you cleared it. If you have not cleared it yet but have applied, it is better to leave it off than to imply you hold it.
How does a fresher teacher write a resume without experience?
Lead with your B.Ed and teaching practice, describing the school, the classes you taught during practice teaching, the subject, and the lesson plans you delivered. Private tuition and coaching work count and should be written as real teaching experience with student numbers attached.
