Common questions

What should a lab technician resume include?

Your DMLT, BMLT or B.Sc MLT qualification, the lab sections you have worked, the analysers you operate by make and model, your daily sample volume, and any NABL audit exposure. Machine names in particular are direct screening terms in diagnostic job postings.

Is phlebotomy experience worth mentioning separately?

Yes. Many labs, especially collection centres and smaller diagnostic chains, want a technician who can both draw and process samples. Give your daily draw count and mention paediatric or geriatric experience, since those are treated as harder skills.

How does a fresher lab technician write a resume?

Use your DMLT or BMLT practical training as the experience section — name the hospital or lab, the duration, the sections you rotated through, and the tests and analysers you handled there. Listing the machines you have actually used matters more than the length of the training.
