- Name the platforms and the account sizes you managed. Growing an account from 20,000 to 150,000 is a different achievement from 200 to 2,000, and stating the starting point makes you credible.
- Separate organic growth from paid results. Conflating them is the most common overclaim in social media resumes and experienced marketers spot it immediately.
- Give production volume — posts and reels per month, across how many accounts. Social roles are partly a throughput job and employers plan around it.
- Mention the brand category you worked: D2C, B2B, hospitality, education. Tone and content strategy vary enough that category experience transfers real value.
- If your own account or a client's is public, link it. This is one of the few fields where the interviewer can and will verify the work in thirty seconds.

Common questions
What metrics should a social media resume include?
Follower growth with the starting number, engagement rate, reach or impressions, posting volume, and for paid work the spend managed and return on ad spend. Always separate organic from paid results, since they represent different skills and conflating them damages credibility.
Do I need to show the accounts I have managed?
Where you are permitted to, yes. Social work is public and easily verified, so a link to a brand account you grew is unusually strong evidence. If a client relationship is confidential, describe the category and size instead of naming the brand.
How do I get a social media job with no agency experience?
Grow something real and document it. A personal or niche account taken from zero to a meaningful audience, with the numbers and the content approach written up, is treated as legitimate experience by most employers hiring for this role.
