HDFC Bank Resume Format — Example for Branch & Sales Roles
Private bank hiring is target-driven in a way public sector recruitment is not. There is no common exam deciding your place — the numbers on your page do, and most banking resumes leave them off.

Check my resume freeHow HDFC Bank hiring is organised
HDFC Bank recruits directly for branch banking, retail sales, relationship management and operations roles, rather than through a shared national examination. That makes the resume the primary screen, and the criteria are commercial: what you sold, what you managed, how much you retained. It is a different application entirely from a public sector officer route.
What a HDFC Bank resume should lead with
Business sourced, CASA value, portfolio size, cross-sell achievement against target, client retention. Private banking measures weekly and the recruiter expects a resume that speaks in the same units. A description of duties without numbers reads as someone who was not carrying a target.
NISM, IRDA and AMFI registrations determine which products you may legally advise on or sell. List the ones you hold with the year and module, since compliance verifies them before an offer is finalised.
KYC accuracy, clean audit findings, zero reconciliation errors. Banking hires on trust as much as on sales, and an unbroken compliance record is a genuine differentiator that costs one line to state.
This is a resume, not a bio-data. No date of birth, no father's name, no declaration. Those belong on the government and PSU format, and using it here signals you have applied to the wrong kind of employer.

Your Name
Branch banking professional with 4 years in retail sales and service. Sourced ₹6.4 crore in CASA over the last financial year at 118% of target, while maintaining a clean KYC record across three internal audits.
Branch Banking · CASA Sourcing · Cross-Selling · KYC & Compliance · Customer Relationship Management · Financial Products · Portfolio Management · Target Achievement · Core Banking Systems
- Sourced ₹6.4 crore in CASA over one financial year, closing at 118% of the assigned target
- Cross-sold insurance and mutual fund products to 42% of the managed book
- Maintained clean KYC documentation across 3 internal audits with no observations raised
- Retained 91% of the assigned client portfolio through a branch relocation
What to get right
- Put your target and your achievement together. "Sourced ₹6.4 crore" means little until the reader knows the target was ₹5.4 crore.
- List NISM, IRDA or AMFI registrations with year and module. They decide which products you can legally sell, and compliance checks them before an offer is confirmed.
- State your compliance record. Clean audits and accurate KYC are trust signals in an industry that hires on trust, and they take one line.
- Use a resume, not a bio-data. Private banks do not want date of birth, father's name or a declaration — that format belongs to public sector applications.
- Name the core banking system you have worked in. It is a routine filter term and removes a training assumption from the reader's mind.

Common questions
How is a private bank resume different from a bank PO resume?
A public sector officer route runs through a common examination, so the resume mainly supports an interview you have already qualified for. Private bank hiring has no such exam — the resume is the screen, and it is read for commercial numbers: business sourced, targets achieved, portfolio retained.
Which certifications should I list?
NISM, IRDA and AMFI registrations, with the year and module. They determine which financial products you are permitted to advise on or sell, which makes them a practical hiring consideration rather than a decoration. Compliance verifies them before an offer is finalised.
I am a fresher — what do I put where targets should be?
Any customer-facing or sales work you have done, with numbers attached: retail counter experience, an internship, a family business, a college fundraising or sponsorship role. Private bank entry hiring screens for comfort with targets and with people, and evidence of either counts.
Should I include a photo?
No. Keep it a plain single-column resume. Photographs, date of birth and declarations belong on a bio-data, which is the format public sector and some clerical employers ask for — not what a private bank expects.
