HCLTech Resume Format — Example for India Roles
A large share of HCLTech's India hiring sits in infrastructure, engineering services and managed operations rather than in application development alone. That changes what the resume has to prove, and most candidates write for the wrong half of the company.

HCLTech's India work spans application development, engineering and R&D services, and a substantial infrastructure and digital operations business. The last of those runs to service levels and shift rosters rather than to release cycles, so a resume aimed at it is read for reliability, certifications and troubleshooting depth — not for how many frameworks you can name.
What a HCLTech resume should lead with
Application development, engineering and R&D services, and infrastructure or managed operations are genuinely different jobs sharing one employer. Name the track in your summary. A resume that reads as generic gets routed to whichever pile has the most openings rather than the one you want.
Networking, cloud platform and ITIL-style certifications are used as screening filters in this part of the business in a way they are not in pure development hiring. List them with the year and treat them as first-class content, not as a footnote.
Operations work is measured on restoring things. An incident you diagnosed, a recurring failure you removed, a mean resolution time you brought down — these are the outcomes this side of the business runs on, and almost no fresher resume offers any of them.
Managed operations frequently run across shifts and across delivery centres. If you are genuinely open to either, say so plainly in one line. It removes a screening question and it is the sort of thing candidates leave out and then get asked about anyway.

Your Name
B.Tech Electronics graduate with networking certification and hands-on lab work in routing, switching and Linux administration. Reduced average issue resolution time in a college support role from about 3 hours to under 1 by documenting recurring fixes.
Networking · Linux · Windows Server · Troubleshooting · TCP/IP · Cloud Fundamentals · ITIL Basics · Ticketing Tools · Python Scripting
- Cut average issue resolution time in a college IT support role from roughly 3 hours to under 1 by documenting the twelve most frequent fixes
- Configured and troubleshot routing and switching in a lab environment across 15 practical exercises
- Automated a repetitive log-check task with a Python script, removing about 4 hours of manual work a week
- Completed a networking certification alongside final-year coursework
What to get right
- State your track — development, engineering services, or infrastructure and operations — in the first two lines. Without it your file is routed by whoever reads it rather than by you.
- Put certifications high on the page for infrastructure roles, with the year completed. In this part of the business they function as genuine screening filters.
- Describe something you fixed, not only something you built. Operations hiring is looking for diagnosis, and a recurring failure you eliminated is the strongest evidence of it.
- Mention shift and relocation flexibility in one line if it is true. It answers a question that would otherwise be asked at screening.
- Keep the format identical to any other large services application — single column, one page, standard headings, no photo.

Common questions
What kind of roles does HCLTech hire for in India?
Broadly three: application development, engineering and R&D services, and infrastructure or managed digital operations. They look for different evidence, so naming your intended track in the summary matters more here than at an employer with a narrower hiring profile.
Do certifications help for HCLTech roles?
For infrastructure and operations roles they carry real weight and are commonly used as screening filters — networking, cloud platform and service-management certifications in particular. For pure development roles they matter less than a project you can be questioned about.
I have no work experience — what do I put for operations roles?
Lab work, college IT support, home lab configurations and anything you have diagnosed and fixed. Describe the problem, what you found, and what changed. Troubleshooting evidence is rare on fresher resumes and stands out immediately for this kind of work.
Should I mention willingness to work in shifts?
Yes, if it is genuinely true, in a single line. Managed operations often run across shifts, and volunteering it removes a screening question. Do not claim it if you are not willing — it comes up again at the offer stage.
