Genpact Resume Format — Example for Freshers
Genpact hires heavily through walk-in drives, and walk-in hiring works differently from campus placement. What you carry to the venue matters as much as what is written on the page.

Genpact's India work centres on finance and accounting, operations, and analytics delivered for large global clients. Much of its fresher and lateral hiring runs through walk-in drives and rolling recruitment rather than a single annual campus cycle, so the process is faster, more physical and less automated than at a large IT recruiter.
What a Genpact resume should lead with
Walk-in drives commonly ask for two printed copies with a passport photograph affixed. This is a genuine difference from IT services applications, where a photo on the resume is a liability — here the drive's own instructions frequently ask for one. Read the specific notice and follow it literally rather than applying the general no-photo rule.
Reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, MIS, Excel depth. These are the terms this business runs on. A generic "good with computers" line where an Excel proficiency level belongs is a wasted opportunity.
Client-facing operations means spoken and written English is tested in the drive itself, often within minutes of your resume being read. Evidence on the page — presentations delivered, written reports, languages with honest fluency levels — sets up an assessment you are more likely to pass.
Commerce, science and arts graduates are all hired into different parts of this business. Name your degree and stream clearly. B.Com routes toward finance and accounting operations; analytics roles lean toward statistics, economics and engineering backgrounds.

Advanced Excel · Accounts Payable · Bank Reconciliation · Invoice Processing · MIS Reporting · Tally · Data Entry Accuracy · Communication · VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables
- Processed around 120 vendor invoices a week during a 3-month internship with no rework flagged
- Built an Excel reconciliation tracker using VLOOKUP and pivot tables that the team kept using after the internship ended
- Reconciled two bank accounts monthly and cleared a backlog of about 200 unmatched entries
- Presented the month-end summary to a team of 8 at the close of the internship
What to get right
- Read the walk-in notice literally. If it asks for two copies with a photograph pasted, bring exactly that — this is one of the few application routes where a photo on the resume is genuinely expected.
- State your Excel level specifically. VLOOKUP, pivot tables and lookups are screening terms in finance operations, and "MS Office" alone tells the reader nothing.
- Use the operational vocabulary — reconciliation, accounts payable, invoice processing, MIS. Generic business language marks you as unfamiliar with the work.
- Give accuracy figures where you have them. Operations hiring weighs error rate more than volume, and "no rework flagged" is a stronger line than a large number processed.
- List languages with honest fluency levels. Communication is assessed in the drive itself, usually the same day.

Common questions
Should a Genpact resume have a photo?
Follow the specific drive's instruction. Walk-in notices frequently ask for printed copies with a passport photograph affixed, which is the opposite of the standard IT services advice. Where the notice does not mention it, leave the photo off the document and carry a loose passport photo instead.
What should a B.Com fresher emphasise?
Accounting operations vocabulary and Excel depth. Reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, and specific Excel functions you can use under observation. Any internship or family-business accounting work described with volume and accuracy figures carries real weight.
How many copies of my resume should I take to a walk-in?
At least three printed copies plus your original documents, even when the notice asks for two. Walk-in drives often involve more than one person reading your file, and being asked for a copy you do not have costs slots more often than candidates expect.
Do non-commerce graduates get hired here?
Yes. Science, arts and engineering graduates are hired across operations and analytics roles, though commerce backgrounds route more naturally toward finance and accounting work. Name your degree and stream clearly so your file reaches the right process.
