Supply Chain Resume Format — Example You Can Copy
Supply chain is a numbers job end to end, and the specific numbers differ by function. Planning is judged on forecast accuracy and inventory days, logistics on freight cost and on-time delivery. Your resume should show which set you own.

- Declare your function: planning, procurement, logistics or warehousing. They are separate career tracks with separate metrics, and a blended resume matches none of them well.
- Use the sector's own numbers — fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory days, OTIF, freight cost per unit. Generic "improved efficiency" reads as someone who did not own a metric.
- Name your ERP module specifically: SAP MM, SAP SD, Oracle SCM. Module-level familiarity is what postings actually screen for.
- Give SKU count, warehouse count and distributor or dealer numbers. They describe the complexity you have handled better than turnover does.
- If you released working capital, say the amount. Inventory reduction translated into rupees gets read by finance as well as supply chain.
ATS keywords for supply chain executive roles
Applicant tracking systems match your resume against the job description before a person ever opens it. These are the terms that show up most often in supply chain executive postings — use the ones that are genuinely true of you, in your own bullet points rather than in a keyword dump.
Common questions
Which metrics matter most on a supply chain resume?
It depends on your function. Planning roles are read for forecast accuracy, fill rate and inventory days; logistics roles for on-time delivery, freight cost per unit and OTIF; procurement for cost savings and vendor lead times. Pick the set that matches the job you are applying to.
How important is SAP on a supply chain resume?
Very, for mid-size and large organisations, and the module matters as much as the system. SAP MM, SD and WM are screened for by name, so listing "SAP" alone can miss the match entirely. Say which modules you have transacted in.
Can I move from warehouse operations into planning?
Yes, and the bridge is data. Emphasise any forecasting, stock norm setting, SKU analysis or Excel modelling you did alongside operations, and get comfortable with the planning vocabulary. Warehouse experience is genuinely valued in planning because you know how stock actually behaves.
