Security Guard Biodata Format for Job — Sample, Blank Form and Lines to Copy
A security agency reads a guard's biodata in a fixed order: physical particulars, training, police verification, then the posts you have held. A general job biodata leaves out exactly the lines an agency checks first, so this format puts them at the top.

When this format is the right one
Use it for any guard, gunman, lady guard or security supervisor post with a private security agency, a housing society, a factory, a hospital, a mall or a bank branch. Most agencies ask for a biodata rather than a resume, and many hand you their own printed form at the office — fill that form from this sheet so the numbers match.
Copy-ready lines for a security guard biodata
Copy the lines that are true for you, replace every [bracket] and delete the rest. An agency will measure your height and chest and check your training certificate at the office, so every number here must be one you can show.
Physical particulars — the first thing an agency checks
The Central Model Rules under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 set a height of 160 cm for men and 150 cm for women, a chest of 80 cm with 4 cm expansion for men, and far eyesight of 6/6 with or without glasses. States adopt their own rules on this model, so write your real measurements rather than the minimum.
- Height: [172] cm | Weight: [68] kg | Chest: [86] cm (expanded [90] cm)
- Eyesight: 6/6 [with / without glasses] | Colour vision: normal
- Identification mark: [a mole on the left cheek]

Training and verification lines
A guard's training under the same rules is at least 100 hours in the classroom and 60 hours in the field, over at least 20 working days. Ex-servicemen and ex-police personnel take a shorter course — 40 hours classroom and 16 hours field over at least 7 days.

On a clerk's biodata, height and chest would look odd. On a guard's, they are the first thing read, because the agency has to meet a physical standard for every guard it deploys. Put height, weight, chest and eyesight directly under your name and date of birth, and keep the numbers the same as on any earlier agency form — a mismatch looks careless.
Under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 a private security guard must be at least 18 and under 65, and you must satisfy the agency about your character and antecedents — which in practice means police verification. Write your date of birth in full, and add one line saying whether police verification is complete, which police station did it and when. If it is pending, say so — the agency will start it anyway.
Name the course, the hours, the institute and the month you finished. "Trained" on its own tells an agency nothing; "100 hours classroom + 60 hours field, completed March 2025" tells them you meet the rule. Ex-servicemen should write the service, rank, years and discharge date — it is the strongest line on the page for supervisor and gunman posts.
Agencies rotate guards across sites, so "Security Guard, ABC Security, 2019–2024" says little. Name the kind of post — a housing society, a warehouse, a hospital, an ATM — and one or two duties with a number. The agency is matching you to a vacant site, and the site type is what it matches on.
Aadhaar copy (self-attested, and you may mask the first eight digits), the police verification certificate, the training certificate, your 10th marksheet or school leaving certificate, the discharge book for ex-servicemen, an arms licence only for a gunman post, and two passport-size photographs. List them under "Documents enclosed" at the end so the office can tick them off.
What to get right
- Write your real height and chest, not the minimum. The agency measures you at the office, and a biodata that disagrees with the tape is the fastest way to lose the post.
- Give the training line in hours and a month. It is what the agency must show if its guards are inspected, so it is the line it looks for.
- Mention the site types you have worked — society, factory, hospital, ATM, mall. Agencies fill vacancies by site, not by job title.
- Say which shifts you will take. A guard who can do nights is easier to place, and saying so on paper saves a question.
- Mask the first eight digits of your Aadhaar on the copy you hand over. The last four are enough for identification.
- Sign the declaration in ink on every copy. Agencies file the biodata as part of your deployment record.
Common questions
What should a security guard biodata contain?
Post applied for, name, father's name, date of birth, height, weight, chest, eyesight, identification mark, languages, address and mobile; then education, security training with hours, police verification, experience by site, skills, shift preference, documents enclosed and a signed declaration.
What height is needed for a security guard job?
The Central Model Rules under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 set 160 cm for men and 150 cm for women, with a chest of 80 cm and 4 cm expansion for men. States frame their own rules on this model and agencies can ask for more, so check the vacancy — and always write your actual measurement.
Is training compulsory for a private security guard?
Yes, under the Act's rules a guard is trained before deployment: at least 100 hours in the classroom and 60 hours in the field over at least 20 working days. Ex-servicemen and ex-police personnel take a shorter course of 40 hours classroom and 16 hours field. Put the course on your biodata as its own line.
Can I get a security guard job without experience?
Yes — agencies hire freshers and arrange the training. Lead with your physical particulars, education, languages and willingness to do night shifts, and write "Security training: to be completed with the agency" if you have not done it yet.
Biodata or resume for a security guard job?
A biodata, for almost every agency, society and factory post. A resume is only worth it for corporate security officer or manager roles that are advertised online — there, the same training and site experience go into a standard resume format.
