Bank Jobs in Mumbai for Freshers: Two Routes In

There are two ways into a bank job as a fresher in Mumbai. Private banks hire graduates, and sometimes 12th pass candidates, directly for sales, branch and back-office roles, often through staffing companies. Public sector banks recruit through written exams. This page explains both routes, the roles freshers actually get, what to ask about a sales role, and how to spot a fake bank job.

No job or interview guarantee. We never ask for a fee to get you selected.

Route 1: private banks

Most fresher openings at private banks in Mumbai are sales roles: branch sales officer, relationship officer, current-account or CASA sales, credit card and loan sales. They involve meeting customers, often in the field, with monthly targets and incentives. There are also branch operations, phone banking and back-office processing roles, many of them in office parks rather than branches.

Many of these jobs are on the payroll of a staffing company or a bank subsidiary, not the bank itself. That is common; ask whose payroll you will be on and what changes if you move to the bank's own rolls later.

What to ask about a sales role

What is the fixed pay, and what is incentive? What is the monthly target, and what happens if it is missed in the first months? Is the work in the branch or in the field, and is travel paid? Which products will you sell? These answers decide whether the job suits you more than the job title does.

Route 2: public sector banks through exams

Public sector banks fill clerk and probationary officer posts through written exams. IBPS runs the common recruitment process for most public sector banks, while SBI and the RBI hold their own exams. Graduates can apply; age limits, dates and fees are in each notification on the official websites. No consultancy can get you one of these jobs.

Fake bank job offers

Fraudsters send "bank job" offer letters with the bank's logo and ask for a fee for training, a laptop or verification. Real private banks do not charge candidates, and public sector bank jobs come only through the official exam process. Check any opening on the bank's own careers page.

Common questions

Can a fresher get a bank job in Mumbai without an exam?

Yes, at private banks: sales, relationship officer, branch operations, phone banking and back-office roles are hired by interview. Public sector bank posts need the IBPS, SBI or RBI exams.

Are there bank jobs in Mumbai for 12th pass?

Some private bank sales and phone banking roles take 12th pass candidates, often through staffing companies. Most bank roles prefer graduates.

Is a bank sales job worth it for a fresher?

It can be, if you are comfortable with targets and field work. Ask the fixed pay, the target and the first-months policy before you accept.

Do I have to pay for a bank job?

No. Private banks do not charge candidates, and public sector bank jobs come only through official exams. A fee demand is a fraud.
