Resume Headline and Profile Summary for ITI: Copy-Ready, Trade-wise

The headline is the one line a recruiter reads before deciding whether to open the rest, on your resume, in Naukri's Resume Headline field and under your name on LinkedIn. Most ITI candidates write "Fresher looking for a job", which tells the reader nothing. Below are working headlines and profile summaries for each major ITI trade, the formula behind them, and how to size them for Naukri and LinkedIn.

Headline, summary, objective: which is which

The headline is one line: your trade, your certificate, two or three skills and what you are looking for. It sits at the top of your resume and goes into Naukri's Resume Headline field and your LinkedIn headline.

The profile summary is two or three sentences under it: what you can do, where you trained, and one piece of proof. The career objective says what job you want next; freshers and apprentices use it instead of a summary, and it has its own guide.

The formula

Recruiters search for the trade name first, then for skills. Build the headline in this order so the important part survives when it is cut short.

Trade and certificateITI Electrician (NCVT)The first thing a recruiter searches and the first eligibility check

Sizing it for Naukri, LinkedIn and the resume

Naukri's Resume Headline field takes up to 250 characters, according to Naukri's own guidance, so the whole formula fits. Use the full version there.

LinkedIn shows only the start of your headline in search results and on phones, so the trade and certificate must come first. The short versions below are written for that.

On the printed resume, keep the headline to one line under your name. If it runs to two, drop the location and keep the skills.

Resume headlines to copy, by trade

Copy the lines that are true for you, replace every [bracket] and delete the rest. Every number should be one you can repeat in a practical test.

Electrical and electronics trades: full headline (Naukri)

Mechanical and production trades: full headline (Naukri)

Automobile, AC and plumbing trades: full headline (Naukri)

Office and drawing trades: full headline (Naukri)

Short versions for LinkedIn (trade first, so it survives the cut)

Profile summaries to copy (two or three sentences)

Use one under the headline on your resume, in Naukri's Profile Summary and in LinkedIn's About section. Replace every bracket with something you can show in a practical test.

Common questions

What is a good resume headline for an ITI fresher?

Trade and certificate first, then two or three real skills, then the job and city you want: for example, "ITI Electrician (NCVT, 2026) | Panel wiring, motor starters, PLC basics | Fresher | Open to Pune". Avoid lines like "Fresher looking for a job", which give a recruiter nothing to search for.

How long can a Naukri resume headline be?

Naukri's own guidance gives the Resume Headline field a limit of 250 characters. That is enough for the full formula: trade, certificate, skills, proof and location.

Should my LinkedIn headline be the same as my Naukri headline?

Keep the same start (trade and certificate) but make the LinkedIn one shorter, because LinkedIn shows only the beginning in search results and on phones.

Is the profile summary the same as the career objective?

No. The summary says what you can already do; the objective says what you want next. Freshers can use either; once you have a year of work, use a summary.

Can someone write my Naukri and LinkedIn profile for me?

Yes. CVCrisp Jobs writes LinkedIn and Naukri profiles with you over WhatsApp: headline, summary and skills, from your real details.
