Notification P/NGP/SAS/2024/16, dated 1 April 2025, offered 933 act apprentice slots: 858 in Nagpur Division and 75 at the Motibagh Workshop. Applications were online from 5 April to 4 May 2025. Other SECR divisions publish their own notices on secr.indianrailways.gov.in under Recruitment.
How the shortlist was made
The provisional shortlist for document verification was five times the number of slots, drawn only from the aggregate of your 10th and ITI percentages as typed in the online form. Where there were not enough PwD or ex-servicemen candidates, the list went further down the merit order.
Trades called
The 2025-26 Nagpur shortlist called candidates in Electrician, Fitter, Wireman, Carpenter, Plumber, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, Painter, Turner, Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Stenographer (Hindi), Digital Photographer and Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance, among others. Electrician had by far the most names on the list.
Document verification
Verification was held at Kala Mandir, Motibagh SECR Railway Colony, Nagpur. Candidates had to bring originals and self-attested copies of qualification documents, the latest community certificate, ex-servicemen discharge and disability certificates if claimed, Aadhaar, PAN, a bank passbook copy, the checklist and declaration form, and a printout of the online application. No travel or daily allowance was paid.
