ITI Apprenticeship Form: How to Fill It Without Mistakes
"ITI apprenticeship form" means one of two things: your registration on the government Apprenticeship India portal, which every establishment uses to engage trade apprentices, or a recruitment form for a railway zone, PSU or company that is taking apprentices this year. This page covers both: which one you need, the documents to keep ready, how railway merit lists are worked out, and the mistakes that get forms rejected.

The portal registration: ITI pass candidates register as a candidate on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, complete the profile and apply to establishments that have posted openings in their trade. When an establishment engages you, the apprenticeship contract is registered through the portal. Registration is free.
Recruitment forms: railway zones (through their Railway Recruitment Cells), PSUs and large companies announce apprentice openings in a notification with its own online form, dates and fee. Read the notification for your zone or company before you fill anything; the rules below differ between them.
How railway apprentice merit is calculated
Railway apprentice notifications we read for 2025 (Eastern, South Central and East Central Railway) select ITI apprentices on merit, without a written exam: the average of your 10th (matriculation) percentage and your ITI percentage, with equal weight. The 10th must have at least 50% aggregate. Example from a notification: 80.58% in 10th and 91.68% in ITI gives ½ × (80.58 + 91.68) = 86.13.
Merit lists are made trade-wise, unit-wise and community-wise, and ties go to the older candidate in the notices we read. Check your own zone's notice for its age limits and fee.
Because merit comes from the marks you type into the form, enter your ITI percentage exactly. If you are not sure how to work it out from your marksheet, use the calculator.
Mistakes that get forms rejected
A name or date of birth that does not match your 10th certificate and Aadhaar; the wrong trade selected; percentages typed from memory instead of the marksheet; a photo or signature scan in the wrong size or blurred; applying in two zones where the notice allows only one; and missing the last date because the payment did not go through. Notices warn that wrong details found later cancel your candidature, even after selection.
Keep these ready before you open any form
Copy the lines that are true for you, replace every [bracket] and delete the rest. Every number should be one you can repeat in a practical test.
