East Central Railway Apprentice for ITI Holders
East Central Railway (ECR) takes act apprentices through a notification from the Railway Recruitment Cell at Patna, and each division then verifies certificates for its shortlisted candidates. This page uses ECR's Dhanbad division notice of 22 April 2025 to show how the steps work.

The Dhanbad notice refers to RRC Patna's notification RRC/ECR/HRD/Act Apprentices/2024-25, dated 25 January 2025. RRC sent Dhanbad division 243 shortlisted applications, 1.5 times its notified vacancies, and the division called the first 156 in merit order for verification of certificates from 5 to 7 May 2025.
Register on the apprenticeship portal first
Selected candidates were told to register on the Ministry of Skill Development's apprenticeship portal before the verification date, apply to the establishment "DRM(P) E.C.Railway, Dhanbad" by searching it on the portal, and bring a printout of their profile with the registration number.
Documents for verification
Originals and one set of self-attested copies of: marksheets and certificates for 10th, ITI and any higher course; date of birth proof (the 10th certificate), without which the candidature is cancelled; SC, ST or OBC certificate in the central government format, with OBC non-creamy layer status not older than one year; disability certificate if claimed; 10 identical recent passport-size photographs; and the portal profile printout.
Selection also depends on medical fitness to the prescribed standard.
Costs
Candidates bear their own travel and stay, and ECR asked them to come ready to stay a day longer if needed.
