Skills for ITI Resume — Trade-wise Technical Skills List to Copy
On an ITI resume the skills section does most of the work, because a fresher has little else to show. Most applicants write "hard-working, team player, MS Office" and leave out the machines and instruments they spent a year or two on. Below are ready skill lines for every ITI trade — the operations, the machines, the measuring instruments and the safety practice — to copy, trim and keep true.

An employer screening ITI candidates is asking one question: can this person do the work on day one, or will we have to teach it? The answer is in specifics — the operations you can perform, the machines you have run, the instruments you measure with, and the safety rules you follow. "Mechanical skills" answers nothing; "centre lathe — facing, step and taper turning, thread cutting; micrometer and vernier" answers the question.
Keep every line to what you did in the ITI workshop, the on-the-job training or an apprenticeship. Many ITI interviews include a practical test, and the examiner will start from your skills list.
How to lay it out
Use three or four labelled lines rather than a long list of single words: Operations, Machines, Measuring instruments, Software, Safety. Put the trade skills first and soft skills last, and keep the section to eight or nine lines on a one-page resume.
Every CTS trainee also studies Employability Skills, the DGT subject that replaced Social Studies in 2012 — English and communication, IT literacy, entrepreneurship, and occupational safety, health and environment. One line for it is enough; the trade lines matter more.
Skill lines to copy, trade by trade
Copy the lines that are true for you, replace every [bracket] and delete the rest. Every number should be one you can repeat in a practical test.

Common questions
What skills should I write on an ITI resume?
The operations, machines, measuring instruments and safety practice from your trade, written as labelled lines — for example "Centre lathe: facing, step and taper turning, thread cutting" and "Measuring instruments: micrometer, vernier". Add software only if you used it, and keep soft skills to one or two lines at the end.
How many skills should an ITI fresher write?
Four or five labelled lines covering eight to twelve specific skills is enough for a one-page resume. More than that usually means adjectives have crept in. Each skill should be one you can demonstrate in a practical test.
Should I write Employability Skills on my resume?
One line is enough. Employability Skills is the DGT subject every CTS trainee studies — workplace English, communication, IT literacy, entrepreneurship, and occupational safety, health and environment. The trade skills matter far more to the employer.
Where does the skills section go on an ITI resume?
Directly after the career objective and the ITI certificate line, before education details. For a fresher it is the strongest section, so it should be seen in the first few seconds.
Can I list skills I learned only in theory?
No. Many ITI interviews include a practical test, and the examiner starts from your skills list. Write what you did in the workshop, on-the-job training or an apprenticeship, and leave theory-only topics out.
