Application Letter for Apprenticeship Training: Samples to Copy
Many establishments take apprentices through the government portals, but a lot of companies, workshops and PSU units still ask for a written application with your documents, or an email. Below are copy-ready letters for ITI pass candidates and for diploma holders and graduates, a short email version, subject lines, and what to attach.

ITI pass and other trade apprentices register and apply on the Apprenticeship India portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in), used for the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). Diploma holders and graduates use the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in). An establishment can only engage you through the portal, so register there first.
Use the letter when a company asks for a written application, when you walk in to an HR office or a PSU unit, or when you email a company that has no opening on the portal yet. Mention your portal registration in the letter.
What the letter must say
Keep it to one page: the trade and year you passed, your ITI and certificate (NCVT or SCVT), your marks, what you can do in the trade, that you are registered on the portal, when you can join, and your phone number. End with a list of the documents you have attached.
Address it to the HR Manager or the Training Officer, by name if you know it.

Common questions
How do I write an application for apprenticeship training?
Address the HR Manager or Training Officer, give a subject line with your trade, then your ITI, certificate, year and marks, two or three skills, your portal registration number, when you can join, your contact details and a list of enclosures. Copy-ready letters are above.
Do I still need to register on the portal if I send a letter?

What documents should I attach?
ITI marksheet and certificate (or provisional certificate), 10th marksheet, Aadhaar (masked if you prefer), two photographs and your portal registration printout. Add a one-page resume or biodata.
Can I send the application by email?
Yes. Use the short email version above, attach your resume and documents as PDFs, and put your trade and year in the subject line.
