Architect Resume Format: Example You Can Copy
Architecture practices hire on typology and stage. Whether you have taken a residential project through working drawings is a different claim from producing concept renders, and your resume must make the distinction clear.

What recruiters look for in Architect resumes
- State your COA registration number. It is the legal basis for calling yourself an architect in India and practices check for it.
- Name your typology: residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional, interiors, urban design. Practices specialise and hire within their typology.
- Say which project stages you have actually handled. Concept and presentation work is valued very differently from GFC drawings and site coordination.
- List software with the role it played: Revit for BIM documentation, SketchUp and Lumion for visualisation, AutoCAD for drawings. BIM capability in particular commands a premium.
- Put a portfolio link at the top. Architecture is a portfolio-led hire and the resume mainly exists to get the portfolio opened.
ATS keywords for architect roles
Applicant tracking systems match your resume against the job description before a person ever opens it. These are the terms that show up most often in architect postings. Use the ones that are genuinely true of you, in your own bullet points rather than in a keyword dump.
Common questions
What should an architect resume include in India?
Your B.Arch degree, Council of Architecture registration number, project typologies, the stages you have handled from concept through GFC, your software stack, and a portfolio link. Practices screen for typology fit and drawing-stage experience more than for years alone.
Is Revit more valuable than AutoCAD on an architecture resume?
Increasingly yes for larger practices and international projects, because BIM documentation is becoming standard. AutoCAD remains essential for day-to-day drawing work in most Indian offices, so list both and be clear about which you produce documentation in.
How should a fresh B.Arch graduate write a resume?
Lead with your thesis and academic projects described by typology, area and the drawings you produced, then your internship with the practice name and what you contributed there. Software proficiency and a strong portfolio link matter more than experience length at this stage.
What this costs
Building the resume is free, and so is the scoring. Import your current PDF or Word file, rebuild it in any of the 15 recruiter-tested layouts, and watch the ATS score move against a fixed 100-point rubric: without paying and without making an account. The Architect structure shown above is what the builder produces; none of it sits behind the payment.
Payment happens once, at download, and only if you want the finished file: ₹99 in India, $9.99, £8.99 or €9.49 depending on where you are. That unlocks the watermark-free PDF and an editable DOCX of the same resume, so you can keep changing it later in Word. It is a one-time charge for that resume. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
What happens to your file
Your PDF or Word file is opened and read inside your own browser: the file itself is never uploaded to us. The resume you build is kept in your own browser's storage on your device, not in a resume database, and it is never shown to a recruiter or sold on. Card details go to Razorpay's own checkout and never reach us. The full detail, including what the import step does with the extracted text, is in the privacy policy.
CVCrisp scores your resume out of 100, tells you exactly what is costing you points, and rebuilds it across 15 recruiter-tested templates. Free to use. You only pay when you download.
