CNC Operator Biodata Format: Sample, Blank Form and Lines to Copy
A production supervisor hiring a CNC operator checks three things first: which machines you have run, which control system, and whether you can measure and hold tolerances. This format puts those at the top so the reader does not have to search.
When this format is the right one
Use it for CNC operator, VMC operator, CNC turning operator and setter-operator jobs in auto component plants, job shops, tool rooms and engineering companies, and with contractors who place operators in factories.
Copy-ready lines for a cnc operator biodata
Copy the lines that are true for you and fill every [bracket]. Most plants give a machine trial, so list only machines and controls you have actually run.
Machines and controls. Put them under your name
- Machines: [CNC turning centre / VMC / HMC], [2-axis / 3-axis]
- Controls: [Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi]; can [edit offsets and run programs / write simple G-code]
- Measuring: vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, [thread gauges]
- Reading drawings: tolerances, GD&T symbols [basic], surface finish
Work lines
- Ran [VMC] for [housing / bracket] parts in [aluminium / cast iron], [two] shifts
- Set tool offsets and work offsets, did first-piece inspection and kept the inspection report
- Changed inserts and tools, monitored tool life and reported wear
- Met the daily target of [120] parts with rejection below [1]% (if measured)
- Followed 5S, machine cleaning and daily checks for coolant, lubrication and air
Short profile lines
- CNC operator with [4] years on Fanuc VMC and turning centres in an auto component plant; strong on offsets, inspection and target output.
- ITI [Machinist / Turner] trained on CNC turning, seeking a CNC operator job in [Pune / Chakan / Bhiwandi].
Blank cnc operator biodata form. Copy into Word
Select the form, copy it into Word or Google Docs, and fill the blanks. Keep a monospaced font such as Courier New so the colons stay lined up, then print it on A4.

Write the type of machine (turning centre, VMC, HMC), the number of axes and the control system. A plant running Fanuc controls looks for Fanuc on your biodata before anything else.
Be honest about your level. Loading parts and running a proven program is operating. Setting tools, offsets and first-piece approval is setting. Writing or editing programs is a step above. Each level has its own pay band, and the trial will show your level anyway.
Name the instruments you use and say that you do first-piece and in-process inspection. Rejection and rework numbers help only if you can stand behind them.
Most CNC plants run two or three shifts. Write the shifts you can do and the industrial areas you can travel to, such as Chakan, Bhosari, Waluj or MIDC zones near you.
What to get right
- Name the machine type, axes and control system first.
- State your level honestly: operator, setter or programmer.
- List measuring instruments and inspection work.
- Give output or rejection numbers only if true.
- Write the shifts and industrial areas you can work in.
- Carry your ITI and apprenticeship certificates to the trial.

Common questions
What should a CNC operator biodata contain?
Personal details, machines and axes, control system, programming level, measuring instruments, materials, output or quality figures you can back up, education or ITI, past employers, shifts and a signed declaration.
Which ITI trade is best for CNC operator jobs?
Machinist and Turner are the closest ITI trades. Fitters and other mechanical trades who have trained on CNC also get hired as operators.
Should I write G-code skills in my biodata?
Only at the level you have. Editing offsets and running programs is different from writing programs. The machine trial will check it.
What is the difference between a CNC operator and a CNC setter?
An operator runs proven programs and loads parts. A setter also sets tools and offsets, proves the first piece and solves machining problems.
