In Central Railway's 2025 notification (RRC/CR/AA/2025), the Mumbai cluster had 10 Electronics Mechanic slots, all at TRS Kalyan, plus 2 Instrument Mechanic slots there. In South East Central Railway's Nagpur division document verification schedule of August 2025, 60 electronics mechanic candidates were called for verification.
Selection is on merit: the average of your 10th and ITI percentages, with 10th at 50% or more.
Mazagon Dock and other employers
Mazagon Dock's 2026 intake had 30 Electronic Mechanic seats for ITI holders (Group B), with an age limit of 16 to 21, chosen by a 100-question online exam. Electronics assembly plants, telecom and CCTV firms and service centres also engage apprentices through apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
Stipend and training period
The minimum stipend for an ITI pass apprentice is ₹9,600 a month from 11 September 2025, with 10% more in the second year, under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025. Railway training for ITI holders is one year. Mazagon Dock's Group B training is also one year.
How to apply
Register on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and keep your registration number. For railway apprenticeships, apply on your zone's Railway Recruitment Cell website when a notice opens; for Mazagon Dock, on mazagondock.in. Keep your 10th and ITI percentages ready, because railway merit is their average.
